The CoxHealth Breast Care Clinic recently passed their annual Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) inspection with no deficiencies. MQSA inspections are conducted at every U.S. mammography facility every year, and are regulated by the FDA and the American College of Radiology.
Elements of the inspection include a thorough review of the credentials and education of all radiologists and technologists who work in the center, a review of the daily, weekly and quarterly tests conducted on mammography testing equipment, a medical audit of how the center tracks patients with positive results, and much more.
“We’re thrilled to have been recognized with 100 percent compliance. It is unusual for a facility of this size to have no infractions – the fact that we achieved 100 percent compliance for the fourth year in a row proves CoxHealth’s commitment to breast health, and to the women in our community,” says Susan Smith, director of the CoxHealth Breast Care Clinic.
In November, the CoxHealth Breast Care Clinic was granted a three-year/full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), to become the only designated Breast Care Center of Excellence in Southwest Missouri.
