Safe sleep for baby

Infant suffocation and sudden infant death syndrome, or SIDS, are the largest safety concerns for babies between 1 month and 1 year of age. Learn how you can help prevent suffocation and lower your child’s risk for SIDS by watching the HealthSense video, “A parent’s guide to safe sleep for baby.”

Some simple steps to follow:

  • Place your baby to sleep on his or her back.
  • Use a safety-approved crib with a firm, tightfitting mattress.
  • Remove all soft bedding and toys from the baby’s sleep area.
