IDD therapy can offer relief for lower back problems including:

With a significant success rate, thousands of patients have experienced dramatic pain relief and healing through IDD therapy.

A patient lies face-up on a spinal decompression table while a computer-driven device very gently separates the two vertebrae that are pressing against each other and causing pain. IDD therapy can isolate each of the five lumbar vertebra and pull them apart, allowing water, oxygen and nutrients into the disc area - an area that normally gets poor blood flow - to promote healing.

IDD therapy is nonsurgical, non-invasive and typically does not involve pain medications. The treatment is not only safe and painless, but also comfortable and relaxing. The course of therapy includes approximately 20 treatment sessions, each lasting approximately 30 minutes each.

Treatment is completed in approximately 35 days with minimal follow-up, and no recovery period is necessary. All evaluations, diagnostic work and therapy can be performed in the clinic environment.

About 70 percent of patients who recover with IDD therapy remain pain-free after two years. For patients whose lifestyle or work environment exposes them to higher-risk factors, a maintenance program can protect against exacerbating back problems. A maintenance program may consist of several rehabilitation visits per week that could include moist heat, stretching and strengthening of the lumbar spine and legs (or neck and arms), and osteopathic manipulation as needed.
