Cox South is the jewel of the medical mile. Located on the southern edge of Springfield, this full-service facility has been serving physicians and their patients since 1985. The growing campus of Cox South includes many physician offices, a Level II Trauma Center and numerous other special services.
Visiting Hours
Visiting hours are 10:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m. We request no more than two visitors per patient in a room at the same time. Children are welcome to visit, but they must be accompanied and carefully monitored by an adult at all times. Visiting hours for patients in the critical care areas may be limited because of the patient's special needs. Maternity visiting hours are 2:30-3:30 p.m. and 7-8 p.m. daily. Grandparents are welcome to visit anytime between 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Intensive Care Nursery visitors need to check in with the nursing staff in that area.
Visitor Parking
Each parking lot has designated parking for visitors. Handicapped parking is available near each entrance. Please do not park in the drive directly in front of the main entrances. This area is reserved for patient loading and unloading.
Cafeteria
The cafeteria is open for complete meals during the following hours: 6-10:30 a.m., 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., 4:30-7:30 p.m. and 1-3 a.m. The grill is open from 6 a.m.-9 p.m. Snack items, beverages and fruit are also available during these hours. Dial 269-6368 for a recorded description of the day's cafeteria entrees, diet menu, vegetables, soup and frozen yogurt flavor.
Atrium Bakery & Cafe
Located in the Outpatient Center, you'll find a variety of breads and pastries, soups, salads, specialty sandwiches and desserts. The Atrium Bakery & Cafe is open 6 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Call 269-6761 for a recorded listing of the daily specials, or call 269-6760 to place an order.
Gift Shop
A wide selection of magazines, cards, toiletries and gift items are for sale in the Gift Shop, located off the main lobby. Hours are: 9 a.m.-8:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday; and 1-5 p.m. on Sunday. You can reach the Gift Shop at 417/269-4171.
Salon 3800
Salon 3800, a beauty salon, is located in the lower level of Hulston Cancer Center. Patients and visitors are invited to use its full range of services. Regular hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday (late appointments available upon request). Call 269-5545 to make an appointment.
David Miller Memorial Library
The library offers medical and nursing books and journals. The library is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (closed daily 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.) Patients and visitors may use library materials during regular library hours. The library is located at Cox South in the ground floor corridor between the Turner Center and the hospital. Call 417/269-3460 for more information. Chapel
Patients and visitors are invited to meditate in our chapel, which is located just beyond the Information Desk in the lobby. The chapel is always open. Monday through Friday at 11 a.m., a chaplain delivers a short, inspirational message.
Ronald McDonald House
The Ronald McDonald House of the Ozarks is located across Primrose Avenue from Cox South and provides low-cost lodging for parents and siblings of children hospitalized in any of Springfield's hospitals. For more information, call 417/885-0500.
Cox Plaza Hotel
Cox Plaza Hotel offers the comfort of a fine hotel to visitors of CoxHealth. This 30-room hotel is located conveniently on the second floor of Wheeler Heart & Vascular Center, directly across the street from Cox South, via the National Avenue Skywalk.
